Music by the creek

31 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM

THE Gateway to Gannawarra Education, Cultural and Heritage Centre will be the venue for this year's Cohuna event of the Murray River International Music Festival.

During the past seven years Sergio de Piere, along with an organising group from Mildura, have presented a series of concerts up and down the length of the Murray where patrons get to listen to beautiful music in stunning locations.

This year Mr de Piere has invited world renowned classical guitarist, Massimo Scattolin, and Roberto Fabbriciani, a flautist who was born in Italy and has played for the most important festivals throughout Europe, to play for the Cohuna audience.

The evening will begin at 8pm on Saturday night.

Patrons are advised to purchase the $15 tickets from the centre before the event as there are no door sales on the night.

It is a "bring your own chair" event.

It is hoped that proceeds raised on the night will go towards buying equipment for the new kitchen at the town's Memorial Hall.
