School life starts

03 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
THE new school year is upon us, with Kerang South Primary School being the first school in Kerang for 2012 to have their new prep students start their schooling life.

A group of 25 excited and nervous prep students walked through the school gates for the first time yesterday, where they participated in a fun morning of letters and numbers and getting to know each other.

There were hardly any tears about being away from mum and dad, as the students were more excited about learning and making new friends.

The new preps are spread between two classrooms at Kerang South this year, with two combined prep/grade one classes

Kerang South has 199 students enrolled at the school this year, which is a slightly higher number than last year.

St Joseph’s Primary School and Kerang Primary School prep students will begin school today, whilst Kerang Christian College will commence classes on Monday.

Kerang Technical High School will also start the school year today.
