THE Northern District Champions singles bowls event will be held over the next two weekends at Wakool. On Sunday, the top 10 club champion lawn bowlers across the district will battle it out to find the best in the local competition.
The preliminary matches and quarter-finals will be played on Sunday, with the semi-finals and final on January 22.
Subject to other entries, the preliminary round should see Kerang's Ed Fenton take on a representative from Leitchville, while the other opening-day match has Pyramid Hill's champion meeting the Barham Sports winner.
The quarter-finals will then see the title-holders from Gunbower, and Wakool enter the tournament bracket alongside Cohuna Golf's Peter Bibby (pictured), Daniel Baker of Kerang Golf, Barham Services' Rod Kendall and Terry Gilmore of Cohuna. PHOTO SUPPLIED
