NOW in the running for its eighth top-flight Northern District ladies’ bowls title in nine seasons, Cohuna accounted for Kerang 76-55 in Wednesday’s second semi-final at the Barham Sports Club. Kerang will now meet the Barham Services combination in next week’s preliminary final play-off after the nominal home team downed Cohuna Golf 72-66 in the first semi-final.
Across on the second green, there was a tight tussle in the division two second semi-final, with Cohuna edging out cross-town rivals Cohuna Golf 78-73 after an extra-end situation was averted. In the first semi-final Kerang eliminated dual defending champions Pyramid Hill 81-67 to book a place in the preliminary final against Cohuna Golf.
