THOSE wanting to wet an angling line in the MUrray River ahead of the 2012 footy season can do so in March at the annual Murrabit Cod Challenge event, suported by the Murrabit Football Club.

The Challenge will be held across three days (March 16-18), with camping and meals available at the Murrabit Recreation Reserve and clubrooms.

Fishing will be restricted to a stretch of the waterway around 15 kilometres long, split by the Murrabit Bridge.

The total prize pool is worth well over $10,000 and includes a boat and portable fridge.

The entry fee is $110 per person, with a maximum cap of 275 participants. Junior anglers can register for the under 16 section for $55.

If anglers register before February 16, a bonus draw will also apply.
